Winnipeg Blue Bombers Set to Sign QBs Jake Dolegala and Bryan Scott

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are making moves to bolster their quarterback depth, as reports indicate the team is set to sign Jake Dolegala and Bryan Scott. This news comes at a crucial point in the season, with Winnipeg looking to solidify its playoff push and ensure depth at the quarterback position in case of injuries or other unforeseen circumstances.

Jake Dolegala, a 6’7” quarterback, brings significant size and a strong arm to the Bombers. A former NFL player with stints at the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins, Dolegala has proven his capability in both the CFL and the NFL. Having spent time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Dolegala is no stranger to the Canadian game, making him a valuable addition for the Bombers. His experience with the Roughriders this season has seen flashes of potential, and his signing could add a strong backup or rotational option for Winnipeg.

Bryan Scott, on the other hand, has been a rising name in alternative leagues like the USFL, where he made a name for himself with his accuracy and mobility. Known for his quick decision-making and leadership, Scott’s arrival in Winnipeg could also provide an intriguing dynamic to the quarterback room. His time with the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL saw him develop into one of the more promising quarterbacks outside of the NFL, and now he brings his skill set north to the CFL.

For the Blue Bombers, securing Dolegala and Scott is a proactive step toward building depth, especially given the physical nature of the CFL season. Current starting quarterback Zach Collaros has been one of the top performers in the league, but Winnipeg is ensuring that they are prepared for any situation, particularly as they make a run for another Grey Cup title.

The dual signings give Winnipeg added flexibility at the quarterback position, providing head coach Mike O’Shea with options should injuries or fatigue become a factor in the latter stages of the season. Both Dolegala and Scott are expected to compete for backup roles, and their development will be closely watched as they integrate into the Blue Bombers’ offensive system.

As Winnipeg continues to build a championship-caliber roster, these additions reinforce the Bombers’ commitment to maintaining a strong and balanced team, giving them the edge they need as the playoffs approach.
