**Man Identified After Fatal Rollover Accident**
Local authorities have identified a man who tragically lost his life after being thrown from his truck during a violent rollover accident. The victim, 36-year-old James Mitchell, a resident of the nearby town of Lakewood, was pronounced dead at the scene following the single-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 15 late Wednesday night.
According to a statement from the state patrol, Mitchell was driving a 2017 Ford F-150 at high speed when he appeared to lose control of the vehicle while navigating a curve on a rural stretch of the highway. Investigators believe that Mitchell may have overcorrected after veering off the road, causing the truck to roll several times before coming to a rest in a ditch. During the rollover, Mitchell was ejected from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash was reported by another motorist. Despite their efforts, they were unable to revive Mitchell, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to the state patrol’s preliminary report.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the accident but have stated that speed and the lack of seatbelt use were significant factors in the fatality. There has been no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role, though toxicology reports are still pending.
Mitchell, who was a father of two and a longtime employee at a local construction company, was well-known in his community. Friends and family described him as a hardworking and devoted father who loved spending time outdoors. His sudden death has left those close to him in shock and mourning.
Local officials are using this tragic incident as a reminder of the importance of wearing seatbelts and adhering to safe driving practices. “This was a preventable loss,” said Officer Greg Phillips of the state patrol. “We urge everyone to take the time to buckle up, slow down, and always drive responsibly.”
Funeral services for James Mitchell are expected to be held later this week, and his family has requested privacy during this difficult time. The community has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support his children and cover funeral expenses.
