De Kalb (Miss.) Kemper County four-star offensive tackle Mario Nash has decommitted from Mississippi State, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He was pledged to the in-state Bulldogs since June 23, when he chose them over the likes of Clemson, LSU and Ole Miss. Nash took an official visit to Florida State over the weekend.
The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder is the No. 270 overall prospect and No. 22 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Mississippi.
Nash was the third highest-ranked prospect in Miss State’s 2025 class. When speaking with Warchant’s Matt LaSerre over the weekend, the blue-chipper said that the Seminoles had a chance to flip him from the Bulldogs. That could come to fruition now that he’s back on the board as one of the nation’s top uncommitted tackles.
“(Nash) is keeping open communication with other schools,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote ahead of Nash’s visit to Tallahassee. “He has visited Florida State over half a dozen times and likes Mike Norvell, Alex Atkins and other staffers there. Ole Miss is heavily involved. He was set to visit LSU last month, but was unable to after a tough game the night before. Clemson also remains a school to watch.”
