FOUR-STAR ELITE GUARD ALANNA NEAL COMMITS TO NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS LADIES BASKETBALL

Lincoln, NE – In a major coup for the Nebraska Cornhuskers ladies basketball program, four-star elite guard Alanna Neal has committed to the Big Red. Neal, the top-ranked 2025 recruit, chose Nebraska over a host of other top programs, including Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Duke.

“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve committed to the University of Nebraska,” Neal said in a statement. “The coaching staff, the team, and the entire Husker community have made me feel like I’m part of the family. I’m excited to be a part of this program and help bring a national championship to Lincoln.”

Neal, a 5-foot-9 guard from Chicago, Illinois, is widely regarded as one of the top high school players in the country. She is a consensus four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 1 guard in the 2025 class by ESPN.

“Alanna is an exceptional player with a tremendous work ethic and a passion for the game,” said Nebraska head coach Amy Williams. “We’re thrilled to have her join our program and can’t wait to see her in action. She’s a game-changer, and we’re confident she’ll make an immediate impact on our team.”

Neal’s commitment is a major boost for the Nebraska program, which has been on the rise in recent years. The Cornhuskers have won 20 or more games in each of the past three seasons and have appeared in the NCAA Tournament twice during that span.

“Alanna’s decision to join our program is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaching staff and players,” said Williams. “We’re building something special here in Lincoln, and we’re excited to have Alanna be a part of it.”

Neal is expected to make an immediate impact on the Nebraska program, bringing her exceptional scoring and playmaking abilities to the table. She is a versatile guard who can play both the point and shooting guard positions, and her athleticism and quickness make her a nightmare to defend.

*WHAT’S NEXT FOR ALANNA NEAL AND THE NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS?*

– Neal will join the Nebraska program in the summer of 2025 and is expected to compete for a starting spot immediately.
– The Cornhuskers will look to build on their recent success, with Neal’s addition expected to make them a major contender in the Big Ten Conference.
– Neal will be part of a talented recruiting class that is expected to help Nebraska make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
