Former five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson has re-entered the NCAA transfer portal, marking his second departure in less than a year after a brief stint with the Texas A&M Aggies.
Hudson, a standout recruit from Lake Belton High School in Temple, Texas, was the No. 1 recruit in Texas for the 2024 class. He began his collegiate career at Texas Tech, where he appeared in eight games during his true freshman season, recording eight receptions for 123 yards. His time in Lubbock was hampered by injuries and limited playing opportunities.
In December 2024, Hudson transferred to Texas A&M, aiming to revitalize his college football journey. He was anticipated to be a significant addition to the Aggies’ receiving corps, which had struggled in the previous season. However, just over a month after his arrival in College Station, Hudson stepped away from football activities for undisclosed reasons.
Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko confirmed that Hudson was no longer with the team as they commenced spring practices. The Aggies had bolstered their wide receiver lineup with other transfers, including Kevin Concepcion from NC State and Mario Craver from Mississippi State, to address their offensive challenges
Hudson’s re-entry into the transfer portal makes him one of the most sought-after wide receivers available, given his high school accolades and potential. During his senior year at Lake Belton, he amassed 70 receptions for 1,353 yards and 18 touchdowns, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
As he seeks a new program, Hudson’s talent and experience will undoubtedly attract attention from teams looking to enhance their offensive arsenal. His next destination remains to be seen, but his journey continues to be closely watched by college football enthusiasts.
