2025 WVSSAC Boys State Baseball Tournament Set to Begin in Charleston

The 2025 West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC) Boys State Baseball Tournament is poised to commence at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, marking a significant milestone as it introduces a four-class format for the first time. ### Class A

The Class A semifinals will kick off the tournament on Thursday, June 5. Top-seeded Madonna (26-4) will face No. 4 Webster County (13-13) at 10 a.m., followed by No. 2 Gilmer County (20-8) taking on No. 3 East Hardy (12-15) approximately 50 minutes after the first game concludes. ### Class AA

Also on Thursday, June 5, the Class AA semifinals will see No. 1 Wheeling Central Catholic (25-4) competing against No. 4 Wyoming East (25-7) at 5 p.m. The subsequent game will feature No. 2 Logan (27-4) versus No. 3 Philip Barbour (22-6), commencing approximately 50 minutes after the first. ### Class AAA

Friday, June 6, will host the Class AAA semifinals. The morning game at 10 a.m. will pit No. 1 Ripley (24-3) against No. 4 Winfield (23-7). Following that, No. 2 Frankfort (22-8) will face No. 3 Fairmont Senior (23-6) approximately 50 minutes later. ### Class AAAA

The newly introduced Class AAAA division will also hold its semifinals on Friday, June 6. At 5 p.m., No. 1 Hurricane (27-6) will play against No. 4 Hedgesville (22-10). The second semifinal will feature No. 2 George Washington (27-8) versus No. 3 Morgantown (26-10), starting approximately 50 minutes after the first game. This year’s tournament marks the final iteration featuring four teams per class. Beginning in 2026, the WVSSAC plans to expand the tournament to include eight teams in each class, effectively doubling the number of participating teams and games.
