West Virginia Mountaineers Lands 3 Star Tight End Sam Hamilton

In a significant recruiting coup, the West Virginia Mountaineers have secured a commitment from 3-star tight end Sam Hamilton out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Hamilton, a talented and athletic prospect, becomes the latest addition to the Mountaineers’ 2024 recruiting class.

Hamilton, who stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 240 pounds, is a versatile tight end who excels in both blocking and receiving. He is a physical player who can line up in a variety of positions, including tight end, H-back, and even wide receiver.

“Sam is a tremendous addition to our program,” said West Virginia head coach Neal Brown. “He’s a talented player who can make an immediate impact on our offense. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Mountaineer family.”

Hamilton’s commitment to West Virginia is a significant victory for the Mountaineers’ recruiting efforts. He chose the Mountaineers over several other Power Five programs, including Cincinnati, Indiana, and Purdue.

“I’m really excited to commit to West Virginia,” said Hamilton. “I love the coaching staff, and I feel like I can make a big impact on the team. The Mountaineers have a great tradition of producing talented tight ends, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that legacy.”

Hamilton’s commitment is also a testament to the Mountaineers’ strong recruiting presence in the state of Ohio. West Virginia has consistently recruited top talent from the Buckeye State, and Hamilton’s commitment is the latest example of that success.

“Sam is a great player, but he’s also a great kid,” said West Virginia tight ends coach Travis Trickett. “He’s got a tremendous work ethic, and he’s always looking for ways to improve. We’re excited to have him on board and to see him develop into a top-notch tight end.”

Hamilton’s commitment gives the Mountaineers a significant boost in the recruiting rankings. West Virginia’s 2024 recruiting class is now ranked among the top 30 classes in the country, according to 247Sports.
