Liverpool are already dreaming of a frightening new-look frontline next season as manager Arne Slot prepares for a major attacking rebuild following the expected departure of Mohamed Salah.

After years of brilliance from Salah at Anfield, the Reds appear ready to usher in a new era built around youth, pace and explosive creativity — and the names being linked with the club suggest Liverpool are not planning to slow down anytime soon.

Reports across Europe claim Liverpool’s dream attack could soon feature a sensational £325m-rated superstar partnership alongside a £187m winger tipped to become Salah’s long-term successor.

The centrepiece of the project is believed to be Alexander Isak, whose arrival last year was viewed as a statement of intent from the Merseyside club. Despite injury struggles during the campaign, Liverpool remain convinced the Swedish striker can become one of the best forwards in world football.

Alongside him, the club already possesses one of Europe’s most gifted creative players in Florian Wirtz. Liverpool shattered records to bring the German international to Anfield, and while his first season delivered flashes rather than consistency, the belief inside the club remains enormous.

Now attention has shifted toward replacing Salah’s legendary output on the right wing.

According to multiple reports, Liverpool are heavily interested in RB Leipzig sensation Yan Diomande, a teenager regarded as one of the Bundesliga’s brightest attacking talents. The young winger has exploded onto the European scene with his combination of pace, direct dribbling and final-third intelligence.

Leipzig reportedly value Diomande at more than €100m, which has led many outlets to describe him as a potential £187m-level superstar in the making due to his long-term ceiling and commercial appeal. Liverpool are said to be leading the race despite growing interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The idea of a front three featuring Diomande, Isak and Wirtz has already excited supporters online. On paper, the combination appears perfectly balanced:

Isak operating as the elite finisher through the middle

Wirtz drifting between lines as the creative orchestrator

Diomande providing relentless penetration from the flank

Liverpool believe the burden of replacing Salah’s goals cannot fall on one player alone. Instead, Slot wants a more fluid attack where goals and assists are shared across the frontline.

Slot himself recently admitted that Liverpool’s wide areas declined badly this season, acknowledging that the club desperately need elite wingers again if they are to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League.

That admission has only intensified speculation that major attacking reinforcements are imminent.

Interestingly, Diomande’s playing style has already drawn comparisons with a young Salah. The Leipzig winger thrives in one-versus-one situations, attacks defenders aggressively and constantly demands possession in dangerous areas. Analysts in Germany have highlighted his unusually high involvement in attacking build-up play for such a young winger.

Liverpool scouts reportedly see him not as a direct clone of Salah, but as the ideal modern evolution of the role — quicker in transitions, more versatile positionally and capable of becoming the focal point of an entire attacking structure.

Meanwhile, the future of several current forwards remains uncertain. Questions continue surrounding Darwin Núñez, while Liverpool are also expected to listen to offers for fringe attacking players as Slot reshapes the squad around a more technical, dynamic style.

What makes Liverpool’s transfer strategy particularly fascinating is the age profile of the targets. Wirtz, Isak and Diomande are all entering or approaching their prime years, meaning the club could potentially dominate European football with the same attacking core for the next decade.

Supporters have already begun comparing the potential trio to Liverpool’s iconic era featuring Salah, Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino.

Replacing that legendary chemistry will be nearly impossible, but Liverpool’s hierarchy appear determined to build the next great Anfield attack rather than simply trying to recreate the past.

One thing is becoming increasingly clear: the post-Salah era at Liverpool may arrive sooner than expected, but the club have absolutely no intention of fading quietly.
