Koby Brea’s impact on the Kentucky Wildcats this season has been nothin short of tremendous and how he’s been balling out in the NCAA tournament has helped the squad reach the Sweet 16!
He’s has been a vital piece of the Wildcats’ lineup all year. He’s averaging 11.8 points per game, which is solid production from a guard. What really stands out, though, is his efficiency from downtown, he’s shooting an impressive 43.9% from three-point range. That kind of marksmanship has stretched defenses and given Kentucky a reliable scoring threat from the perimeter. Throughout the season, he’s racked up 84 made three-pointers, landing him in the top-10 on Kentucky’s single-season list alongside names like Patrick Sparks and James Young. For a guy in his first year with the program, that’s a huge statement.
Brea’s really turned it up a notch in March Madness, showing he’s built for the big stage. First round vs Troy he dropped 13 points, helping the Cats cruise past Troy.
The second round vs Illinois was a breakout moment as tied his career high with 23 points, torching the Illini with 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-8 from three. That performance was a major factor in Kentucky punching their ticket to the Sweet 16, their first trip there since 2019.
His ability to deliver in high-pressure games has been clutch. Whether it’s spacing the floor or hitting big shots, Brea’s been a game-changer in the tournament, and the Cats will need him to keep dancing as they gear up to face Tennessee for a spot in the Elite 8.
